SYLVIA PLATH STOLE MY BOYFRIEND
Writer/Director - Jacinta Parsons
Producer - Philippa Campey
At 93 years of age, with author and broadcaster Jacinta Parsons by her side, Liz Hicklin performed stand-up comedy for the first time. Now, at 95, she is preparing to perform the play of her life. Sylvia Plath Stole My Boyfriend is a story about everything that came after her early heartbreak over Ted Hughes. A near-century of ups, downs, challenges and triumphs. A life that has included both profound loss – the death of two daughters to suicide – and tremendous courage, joy, creativity and reinvention. Part road movie, part theatrical creation story, part meditation on ageing and friendship, Sylvia Plath Stole My Boyfriend is ultimately a film about becoming.
