Passenger to screen at Venice 2019
Passenger is a 360 degree stop-motion VR film that tells the story of arriving in a new country to live. Your taxi driver, himself a migrant to Australia, navigates the new terrain with you, acting as your guide while also revealing small parts of his own story.
Written, directed and animated by award-winning artists and filmmakers Isobel Knowles and Van Sowerwine, Passenger is produced by Philippa Campey at Film Camp with principal funding from Screen Australia.
It is one of the first stop motion animated VR works in the world.
Passenger will have its international premiere in Competition at the 76th Mostra Internatzionale d’Arte Cineamatografica, to be held in Venice from 28th August – 7th September 2019.
Passenger will also screen at the Melbourne International Film Festival in August 2019, on 11th and 15th August 2019.
